How to Share Photos After a Birthday Party

The easiest approach: set up a shared album before the party

A QR code at the venue gives guests somewhere to upload photos as the party happens. Piccy generates one automatically when you create an event — put it in the middle of a table or stick it on the wall somewhere obvious, and guests can upload at any point during the party. You collect everything without having to chase anyone.

If the party's already happened

Send a message to guests within 48 hours with a direct upload link. Keep it short and specific — "here's a link to share any party photos, would love to see them" — and make sure the link actually works before you send it. People are more likely to act on a message that requires one tap than one that requires them to figure out where to send things.

What doesn't work well

Group WhatsApp photo sharing sounds convenient but hits compression limits, file size caps, and disappears into chat history quickly. Email is too much effort for most guests for a casual party. Social media hashtags are fine for public-facing events but aren't really a way to collect photos for yourself.

The issue with all of these is they require guests to initiate and complete a process that wasn't set up in advance. A dedicated album with a QR code removes that barrier entirely.
