Welcome to Piccy
We built Piccy to solve a problem we kept running into at events. Everyone takes photos on their own phone, and those photos never get shared. Here's the story.
Why we built this
There's a photo from a friend's wedding I've never seen. I know it exists because someone described it to me a few months later at a dinner. Apparently it's hilarious, and apparently it's still sitting on their phone somewhere.
That's the thing about events. The photos are out there. They're spread across twenty or thirty phones, and almost none of them ever make it back to the person who'd actually want them.
We built Piccy because we got frustrated with this. The fix felt obvious: one shared album, anyone can add to it, no faff. Guests scan a QR code, pick their photos, done. No app to download, no account to create, no group chat that immediately gets filled with voice notes.
How it actually works
You create an event, you get a QR code. Print it out, stick it on tables, put it in your welcome envelope, whatever works for you. Guests scan it with their camera, they're taken to a simple upload page, and their photos show up in your gallery straight away.
As the organiser you can see everything as it comes in, download it all at the end, and share it however you like. That's genuinely it.

What we've seen it used for
We honestly expected it to mostly be weddings. And yes, weddings are a big one. But people have used it for things we didn't anticipate at all.

- Corporate away days and team events
- Graduations and school reunions
- Birthday parties and casual get-togethers
Someone used it for a kids' football tournament so the parents could all get each other's match photos. That was a good one.
What's next
We've got a list of things we want to build. Real-time slideshows you can put on a screen at the event. Better gallery layouts. More control over how things look. We'll post updates here when things ship, so check back.
